I've been working on new poll bar imagery for our forums, and I'm going to release some of the sets I've completed if you want to change your poll bar images.

How To:

1) Download and UnZIP

2) Enter your FTP > Forum > Images > Polls

3) Transfer Unzipped folder of images to Polls folder and hit overwrite all

Bevel

This poll bar set up was a bit difficult at first because it is a true Bevel. I use photoshop and if you create a Bevel of a layer, then enlarge it, the new adjusted image loses the bevel. So actually I had to create the bevel, then save the gif's. Then reopen them and cut out the appropriate pieces for these poll bars.

This is the seventh release of the poll images, I hope you find what you wanted for a poll bar display for your forum.

I have enclosed 10 images in this set. Dependant upon how many bar colors you use, please choose the images you'd like and simply renumber them for your FTP folder. The colors used are in this order:

1. Green
2. Red
3. Dark Gray
4. Teal
5. Orange
6. Pink
7. Blue
8. Yellow
9. Purple
10. Light Gray

Honestly this could be the best one, and could be the best substitute for the standard vBulletin one's. I say this not only because they look good, perhaps even better when small, but both sizes look decent. Also because I think vBulletin's original poll bar images were created using a Bevel. Examining there image up close it looks like it, but not exact.

I really like this set and this is one of 3 I'm considering using on my own site.

Ultima

This poll bar set up is a split gradient using a variety of colors of course. Title? meh, no idea what to call it. Made me think of FF VII when you cast the Ultima spell and that green explosion comes out from the center.

This is the second release of the poll images, I hope you find what you wanted for a poll bar display for your forum.

I think they create an awesome look, but once again I prefer the larger array rather than the smaller.

FAQ

Will you add options to this?
No

Will you stroke them or add a border for me? No

Why are they 20px in height? Because if I release them at 10px and you opt to enlarge your poll bars similar to I did, vBulletin's expansion will cause lines to appear in certain images. Yet if you use a smaller px in height, such as the normal 10px that is set up in your templates, the images collapse properly with no damage or inconsistency that I noticed.

What if I made my polls a different size in height?
Again, the images work on normal templates using 10px height, there should be no problem here. If you opt to make your poll bar gif image height something odd like 13px or larger than 20px, you might need to look at your images and make sure there is no problems with it.

I want to resize your image, can I?
Yes, if you really feel the need to. But I highly recommend either using the standard 10px in height or 20px to give your polls more of a visual appearance. The 20px amount will not stretch the table.

How do I make my polls taller on the forums?
Go to Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Search In Templates > search for " pollresult " > Choose the pollresult option, NOT pollresults table and NOT pollresults > In the coding there are 3 spots that say 10px, you need to change all 3 to whatever height you want. In my attachments and my board I am using 20px.

How do I make my polls go farther to the right like yours?
That requires a PHP coding change, I'd just wait until vBulletin repairs it and releases it for 3.7 or something else. If they don't and if you want to know right now, then ask me. Remember you change your PHP files at your OWN risk.

How did you get 10 different poll options to show?
This requires a PHP coding change as well, and it really isn't necessary for everyone. 5 options is probably good, and normal forums come with 6, if you want to know I could tell you, but again you changing those documents is at your OWN risk.

Looks good, but I'd like to rearrange there order, how do I do that?
Simple, you need to renumber them and don't change the file name. So if you want bar3-l to be in the number 2 location, rename it bar2-l. L means left side, R means right side, and just the bar3 for example means the middle section that naturally expands on the poll display.

Flat Pastel

This poll bar set up honestly is a good vBulletin substitute. It has pretty normal colors and not a ton of graphic effects on it. The bars are clean, and are probably showing a very slight gradient. This was made with a tutorial I found somewhere and then was cut, so reproduction is very difficult and only hue/saturation adjustments or color layer covers are possible in PS.

This is the third release of the poll images, I hope you find what you wanted for a poll bar display for your forum.

I have enclosed 10 images in this set. Dependant upon how many bar colors you use, please choose the images you'd like and simply renumber them for your FTP folder. The colors used are in this order:

Gradient

This poll bar set up is a natural color gradient. I personally think it's tight and hopefully it works for someone. I think it looks really clean and decent whether large or small.

This is the fourth release of the poll images, I hope you find what you wanted for a poll bar display for your forum.

I have enclosed 10 images in this set. Dependant upon how many bar colors you use, please choose the images you'd like and simply renumber them for your FTP folder. The colors used are in this order:

Not much to this one, there just smooth color gradients.

The Dark

This poll bar set up is basically using a black dark gradient with a color. The effect is pretty cool and this will probably look decent on some of the more abstract websites out there. I dunno who might use it, but perhaps occult related, or gaming sites maybe, people with robotic like displays. Who knows.

This is the fifth release of the poll images, I hope you find what you wanted for a poll bar display for your forum.

I have enclosed 10 images in this set. Dependant upon how many bar colors you use, please choose the images you'd like and simply renumber them for your FTP folder. The colors used are in this order:

1. Green
2. Red
3. Gold
4. Teal
5. Orange
6. Pink
7. Blue
8. Yellow
9. Purple
10. Silver

Honestly as I was making this one I kept thinking, this is sick. It's kind of wicked I really like this one and I might use it on my own board. I dunno.

-- Obviously something we are learning here is that not all colors or sets of poll bars will work with every single style some of you people have made and even myself. Notice how the red blends, not great, but you can't see it's outline too well.

-- PS I just figured out the problem with this, I can't screenshot these at all, they just do not look as good in these shots as they do on your actual forum. You'll just have to guess the sets appearance minus the dirty lines from stupid Photoshop.

Breakout

This poll bar set up was themed after Arkanoid actually, which is a game based on the famous Breakout title. So I kept the Breakout title so as to not weird everyone out. I found a flash game today that used a color gradient from dark to light to dark, or split gradient again. Instead of the white blazing center of the Ultima Poll Bars, this has a nice blending feel with an interior color of the same family of colors as the darker color with it.

This is the sixth release of the poll images, I hope you find what you wanted for a poll bar display for your forum.

I have enclosed 10 images in this set. Dependant upon how many bar colors you use, please choose the images you'd like and simply renumber them for your FTP folder. The colors used are in this order:

2. Red
3. Black

5. Orange
6. Pink
7. Blue
8. Gold
9. Purple
10. Light Gray

This one I like to but I don't know if it's as good as the others. This was the closest I could get to an interior gradient with the minimal pixel space allowed. One thing to note is that if you keep the shorter pixel height of 10px with this one, the black border I gave it will look like a drop shadow indifference to the taller poll bar images via the template change.
