Save Your Templates

Always save your templates before edit them. vBulletin always allow you to restore the original template, but what if you make an error on a template that you've heavily customized? If you're editing your templates with an external editor, then this makes things easier. Personally, I save every template is a special folder on my hard drive. I usually keep the last two versions of each template just in case. I simply save them by their template name. So, my postbit is saved as postbit.html on my hard drive. Although this site does not support, or discuss hacks, another option is to use Firefly's Hack Template Backup System (TBS) [http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=33072&s=]. If you have questions on how to install, or use this hack, please visit http://www.vbulletin.org. Regardless of which method you use, saving your template files can be a real lifesaver should you make a mistake. And mistakes DO happen. |
