Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the second most asked question. Have a look at this post

hi man.
i always getting "The upload failed! Upload error" when uploading files bigger than 1 mb but there is no problem with small files, what's the problem?
That's because of the default upload limit of PHP.

You need to create a file named .htaccess (note the period in front of the name). Put the following two lines into the file:

Code:
php_value upload_max_filesize 30M
php_value post_max_size 30M
Upload the file into your forum directory (the same location where downloads.php is located.)

This will increase the size of the file you can upload to 30MB.

for the solution.

It doesn't work with GARS?!

If you also use the latest version of GARS, you will get the "Fields marked in RED must be filled in!" error when uploading a file. I provided a fix http://www.thevbgeek.com/showpost.php?p=23009&postcount=13 on the GARS forums.

Addons

We are offering 3 addons for this mod at the moment (have a look at the bottom of this post for them). DownloadsII contains 5 hook locations for the vBulletin plugin systems, so you can add extra functionality without file edits.

I've uploaded a new add-on for DownloadsII: DownloadsII PM moderation notification Add-On As stated in the release thread, the add-on does this: when a user uploads a file via DownloadsII and that file is placed in moderation, all users that have the usergroup permission "Can Manage Moderation Queue" set to "Yes" will receive a PM notifying them about the file.

BUT ... the real reason I created it was to demonstrate how the new hooks that have been added to DownloadsII ver 5.0.4 can be used. The PM notification add-on uses the hooks dl_post_upload_add and dl_post_upload_edit. My hope is that other programmers will use these hooks to add other features to DownloadsII. (Hint - maybe for vbux integration!). By using the hooks, DownloadsII can be a modular program; different programmers can create modules that tie into the hooks that are available.

If you are a programmer and you see where another hook would be handy, let me know. There are currently five hooks: dl_pre_upload, dl_post_upload_add, dl_post_upload_edit, dl_pre_download, dl_post_download.

Notes
  • ecDownloads Buddy is NOT compatible with this version. If you are using the Buddy, you should UNINSTALL it before installing DownloadsII ver 5.x.x. The Buddy's features are now integrated into DownloadsII.
  • DownloadsII is a direct derivative work from Ron1n's ecDownloads.
